Adding Dimension

Hello....

There are many ways to add dimension to a project,

One of my favorites is to take pieces from an image,
cut them out and then layer them back together suing pop dots for other foam adhesive.

This can be a time consuming process and the technique does work with every image.

I took this cute image from Whimsy stamps and made 4 layers of dimension with the the flower.
That means I needed to stamp the image 4 times so that I could fussy cut all of my pieces.

I like to add color to the area I am covering  with the popped out piece.
That way there is no white exposed when someone look at the image from the side.

I used adhesive foam between the layer of peddles.

I did not want the image to be to think so I used a couple layers of card stock behind the center of the flower.  It give some dimension but it is not popped off quite as much as the lower layer.

And the lase layer is the bee, which was just cut out and placed on top of the center. It only add a small amount of thickness but it is protruding from the image.

I decided to give the bees some sparkle by adding glitter to their bodies.

Growing In Unity Blog Hop

Good Morning.

Hope you are enjoying you weekend.

Today I am participating in the Growing In Unity Blog Hop.

I am the last stop.  If you just arrive head on over to the Unity blog to get started

The set I chose to work with is the Unity was She Found Joy Kit of the Month

I have been playing with Ken Oliver's Color Burst.

I found a technique where I use the Color Burst mixed with blending gel on watercolor paper.

I first created the background using Yellow and Ocher color burst.  The Ocher is cool because it leaves orange and green color streaks behind.

After the paper dried, I then stamped the background
image using a brown pigmented in and clear embossed.

The poppies were stamped and gold embossed on Watercolor paper.

I used the same technique to color the poppies using red and orange Color Burst.

The center of the poppies are black distress glitter.

I popped them off the background to give the card some dimension

Be sure to leave comments along the way.
Two lucky people will be winning some Unity

Here is today's line up.

May CASEplorations Challenge

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge

I've been collecting stencils and have been trying to master
some techniques.

I feel that they look easier to use then they really are.
Maybe it is just me.

This is a one layer card.  All of the color was applied using a
makeup applicator and distress ink.

The butterflies are from a ARTplorations stencil.   I flip over the image
so that I could get the butterflies to be going two different.

I still have a lot to learn but I have made some progress.
