Growing in Unity Day Five

Happy Friday!!!!

I can't wait to get the weekend started.

Sadly, it is my last day with Unity.

I hope you have enjoyed all of my projects this week.

I want to send a big Thank You to Unity for allowing me to share with you this week

and

All of the readers for their kind comments

For my last project I played with watercoloring.

Watercolor is a huge trend right now.
I have been enjoying watercolor
I find that it is very forgiving
and there are lots of products on the market.

Some of my go to products are
Distress ink
Twinkling H2O
Zig Clean Color Brush markers
And of course
basic watercolor paints.

I really can't say which one I like the best.
But as for basic watercolor needs I like the Zig Clean Color Brush.
They travel easy and clean up is awesome.

If I am looking for something with that sparkle, I go for the H2O's,
which is what I chose for this project

I used the H2O's for both the background and the flower color.

This flower is two different stamps from the Spirit of Summertime KOM
I stamped and embossed the flower and stem before coloring them.

The sentiment is also from the Spirit of Summertime KOM.

See.... I told you that I can't resist the flowers.

I'm like Dory....
I don't need anymore stamps... Oh look a flower stamp....LOL

Well, all good things must come to an end.
I will announce the winners next week
~There will be two~

So don't forget to comment everyday to increase your
chances of  winning some Unity of your very own.

If you missed the previous days,
I have added a recap of the projects this week with links to get you there quickly

Growing in Unity Day Four

Hello All,

Happy Friday Eve!!!

I have only two more Unity projects to share with you this week.

Today's project is nice and simple.
Something that can be repeated to make multiple cards.

I can't take credit for the layout.
I saw it on Pinterest and thought it was pretty cool.
This layout is a good design to use up some of that scrap paper.

The hardest part was picking 3 patterns to mix together that I liked.

The trick is to cut the papers all at the same time so that everything is even.

The width of the pattern paper is 1.5" and then I cut the diagonal.

The flower stamp is from the Delightfully Dainty set.

The Smile sentiment was found in my stash.

The card I saw on Pinterest was a vertical design.
I changed it up a little by going with the horizontal design

I will be back tomorrow for my final day.
~insert sad face here~

Growing in Unity Day Three

Greetings.

Happy Wednesday
I can't believe that it  is the halfway mark for my time with Unity Stamp Company.
Time always flies when you are doing something fun.

For my project today I choose one of my favorite Angie Girls ...
She is gorgeous.

Yesterday I mentioned that I am a sucker for flowers.
And yes, this awesome stamp has a flower...LOL

I used watercolor paper to stamp the image.
I then colored everything using my distress markers as watercolor.
I did this by applying some ink onto a acrylic block and
then picked the ink up using a water brush.

I then tore the edge and paired it with a piece of fun patterned paper.

The sentiment is also part of the set.

I don't usually make tall cards because it is easier to make standard A2 card size.

It is easier to find nice A2 envelopes and one piece of card stock makes 2 cards.

However I did find some nice large envelopes
and am excited to be able to make some different size cards.

This image works well on the tall card.  The overall size is 4" wide by 7.75" tall.

Don't forget to comment everyday to increase your chances of
winning some Unity of your very own

If you missed the previous days, I have added links below.

See you tomorrow

Growing in Unity Day Two

Hello everyone.

Today is day two of by Growing In Unity post for the Unity Stamp Company.

For my project today I picked a stamp that I had not had an opportunity to use yet.  The stamp is called the Whole Wonderful World by Phyllis Harris.

I love flowers and am a sucker when a new set comes out.  I also really like Phyllis Harris' designs.

I like this set because the flowers could be colored different colors to have so many different looks.

I just simply stamped the image and colored it with my alcohol markers.  All of the papers I used are scraps from other projects.

I used my hello die to cut the sentiment from some brown card stock.

I stamped the sentiment from the set on the inside.

Don't forget to leave a comment on my blog every day this week on my Growing in Unity post.

You could win a grab bag of 25 random stamps.

There will be two lucky winners

Growing in Unity Day One

Good Morning!!!

This is going to be a great week.

I am the the Growing In Unity Gal this week for the Unity Stamp Company.

I will be sharing a project each day.   And at the end of my featured week I will be giving away some Unity Stamp grab bags to a couple lucky readers.

The stamps I chose for this project came from the Spirit of Summertime KOM

I stamped the flip flop border using the border stamp from the kit and an Obre stamp pad.

I went with a diagonal layout design and embossed the top layer of purple.

The sentiment is also from the Kit.
I first stamped it on a lined piece of paper
but that did not work out because of the squished lettering of the sentiment.
I then discovered this blue paper in my stash and though it worked much better,

Now for the what you have been waiting for.

How do you win some Unity stamps of your very own.

It is easy.

Just leave a comment on my blog every day this week on my Growing in Unity post.

Next weekend I will pick two lucky winners to receive a grab bag of 25 stamps.

Thank you for dropping by.

I will be back tomorrow with another fun project.

You brighten my day

Happy Friday!!!

I can't wait to get this weekend started.

For my project today I mixed up a few challenges.

First is one of my favorites
the Magazine Monday challenge at the Paper Crafter's Corner

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 141 Submission (image)

This is one of my favorite covers.  I am such a sucker for flowers.
For my project I used the foliage and black background as my inspiration.
Love the different shades of greens.  As you will see I also picked out a little bit of the orange color.

I was also inspired by this challenge over at STAMOlorations.
I love that the color of the feathers is focused on the top end of the image.
The colors are very striking too

The Sketch challenge at the Lawnscaping challenge blog
helped me pull it all together.  I really like that diagonal design of the sketch.
The diagonal look seems to be the in thing currently.

For my card I chose to use the foliage image and die from Lawn fawn.
They are stamped and cut from on watercolor paper because I used twinkling H2O's for the coloring.  I only colored the top half of the foliage to mimic the effect of  the CASE card and those feathers.

I went with the You Brighten My Day sentiment
because that is how I felt that was the message being sent with
black and white images coming alive with color.

I decided to add the orange butterfly to bring in a little more
color from the magazine inspiration and to brighten the overall card.
The butterfly is punched from watercolor paper that I colored orange with the H2O's.
I popped up the wings a little to give some added dimension to the overall project.

I hope you are inspired today.

HB2U

Good Morning,
Hope you are having a beautiful day.

I found some time to hit the craft table last night.
It is nice to be able to work in the evenings now that it is light later.
I seem to be more creative when I have some natural light coming into my work space.
This time I combined two
great challenges for my project.

STAMPlorations CAS challenge

And

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 140 Inspiration Piece (image)

This is a cool magazine cover for April.   I love all of the umbrella's.

What inspired me from this cover was not only the umbrella's but it also reminds me of a
CAS project with all of the open space and being framed with the red border.

I went away from a rainy them to something more warm.....
The beach.....

Of course I had to go green for the STAMPlorations Challenge.
I love this simple image.  It is called beach therapy.

Yes, I believe the beach is very therapeutic.

I water colored the image and beach using distress inks.
I wanted to keep the beech light so that the focus was on the image.
Now all it needs is a tiny cocktail...LOL

The HB2U sentiment is also from STAMPlorations.

I hope you like all of the green.

There is still plenty of time to make your own project for these challenges.

Thank you for dropping in.

Have a wonderful day!

Embossing

Happy Monday!!

Today I have another project to share.

For this card I colored a image from Serendipity stamp and then cut it with a circle die.

I like how the coloring comes all the way to the edge to when you cut into the image.

I then framed them image with the dark blue scalloped circel

The butterfly images are an embossed layer.

It is hard to see in the photo but I used my Wink of

Stella pen to add a little sparkle to the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by

Sunrise

Hello All,

I have been a little crafty this weekend
and have a project to share with you.

I used the Magazine Monday Inspiration from

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 139 Inspiration Piece (image)

Isn't this a wonderful cover.

There are so many great feature and colors in this photo.
What caught my eye immediately was that wonderful sunrise.
Such fun and beautiful colors.

I knew that using my Gelatos was going to be perfect
to blend the background colors.

Just recently at Tuesday Morning I picked up some new
stencils.  One had the positive and negatives of images.
and of course one of the images happened to be a sun.

I added a little extra color to the Happy part of the
sentiment using some distress ink.

I love morning Sunrises,
They bring on a New Day.

Spring

Good Morning!!!

Can you believe it!!!  Two post in two days.
Maybe that means that the creative bug is back.  YAY!!!

I needed to make a thank you card for a sweet lady that sent me a wonderful RAK last week.

You know the drill.   Find some inspiration.
I went looking for some challenges that I have not participated in for a while.
What caught my eye this time???

Newton's Nook Challenge

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge

These two are perfect together.
love the colors of that cupcake
and I have this sweet spring stamp from Newton's Nook.

I did struggle a little bit getting everything put together.
I actually cut off the top part of my sky because I did not like the overall length of the panel.

The paper I used was from the RAK I received.
I love the sweet little flower design of the paper.

I framed the image panel in dark blue for some contrast between
the background paper and the image panel.

Thank you for your kindness is stamped on the inside.

Now to get this card into the mail.

Thank you for dropping by.

HI

Hi!!!

Spring is is full swing here in California.
Everything is so green and the flowers are blooming.

I've been trying to make time to create more.
Hopefully that means I will be sharing more.

Today I have Spring card that I made for my cousin that is going
through cancer treatment.
I just want to brighten her day and I will be sending her cards frequently.

For my project today I used some inspiration from the
Magazine Monday's challenge at the Paper Crafters corner
Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 138 Inspiration Piece (image)

and the April challenge at The Greeting Farm

http://thegreetingfarm.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/farmfreshchallenge.png

And the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp blog

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

I was inspired by the magazine cover.
Those blocks of color overlapping each other.
I thought it would be a cool background.

I tried a couple different groups of blocks
but settled on using only two.

After I put most of the card together I felt the background needed something
I tried to stamp a couple flower images but messed them up...Ugh.
So....  Time to embellish.   that is when I pulled out some flowers and covered my oops.

I love the added flowers.  They give some more dimension.
I also popped the sweet  Anya image off the background using pop dots.

Thank you for dropping by
